Guyuan Airport's annual passenger throughput exceeded 200,000

2019-05-22
At 12:30 on December 5, with the smooth landing of Cathaysian Airlines flight G52670, Guyuan Airport ushered in 200,000 passengers in 2018, which is another historical leap since Guyuan Airport broke through 100,000 passengers in 2016.

The airport gave free tickets to 200,000 lucky passengers to witness this memorable moment. In an interview, Ms. Li said excitedly, "I am very lucky to be the 200,000 passengers of Guyuan Airport this year. I often take flights from Guyuan to Yinchuan. There are many flights, which are convenient and inexpensive.

Guyuan Airport has been open since June 2010. Due to the limitation of aircraft performance and market, the passenger source is insufficient, and the average number of passengers per sortie is 12. In 2015, it first reached two municipalities directly under the Central Government, with the annual passenger throughput exceeding 50,000; in 2016, it successfully became a 100,000-volume airport; in 2017, the annual passenger throughput reached 150,000. Guyuan Airport spent six years to break through 100,000, only two years from 100,000 to 200,000, and strived to break through 300,000 by the end of 2019.

In 2018, Guyuan Airport flights from MA60 to CRJ900 at the time of departure, and then from CRJ900 to October 28 this year to fully open the era of large aircraft, the quality of airline operation has significantly improved, and the proportion of local passengers has increased from 50% at the beginning of departure to more than 80%. The airport continuously optimizes and improves the airline network layout, builds the Guyin Express Line and Guxi Express Line with Yinchuan and Xi'an as the centers, opens Tianjin, Shanghai, Fuzhou and Chongqing airlines, realizes close connection with the core economic circle and economically developed areas of the country, and significantly improves the airline accessibility.

Next, Guyuan Airport will further accelerate the second phase of expansion, enhance aviation accessibility and operational service level, encrypt flights from Xi'an and Yinchuan, add flights from Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Wuhan to other developed regions, achieve the goal of accessing major cities in the country, and step into the ranks of millions of airports.
